Dave

I've been thinking about this one for a number of years now, and the more I think about it, the more I'm coming to realize that the sinner's prayer has done a vast ammount of damage to the church. Salvation by works (just say the prayer you're in, like joining some club, you do something to be initiated then start paying your dues). I thought it was salvation by faith. Like you said, an active and living faith. You come to believe, and it changes everything, the way you talk, the way you act, they way you live. That type of faith is what saves. That kind of faith becomes our righteousness. Not a prayer. I've dealt with too many people who have to "rededicate" themselves over and over, as if that first prayer didn't take, wasn't enough to save.

This is something I'll be dwelling on for many many years to come.

Nice to see you have a new presence on the net.

David

Corrie, Dave is following me everywhere I go. He just keeps showing up! Make him stop!

:-)

I love this line: Are they participants in the kingdom? Look up Rahab and Melchizzedek in your Bible, tell me what you read.)

Classic. And so likely to get you anathematized at the same time!

Can't wait till yer home, C.
